Must See:

Canals: Amsterdam is almost synonymous to Canals. They are such an integral part of the city. And the best way to see them is from on the actual water on a boat tour. These tours work on a "hop-on, hop-off" basis. Just let the boat get you to your attraction or cafe/restaurant of choice and "hop-off" only to hop back on when you are ready to go again. You get the chance to learn more about the sights and city around you from a guide or audio tour in various languages. It's a great way to experience and learn about all sorts of aspect of the city.

Musea: It wouldn't be a capitol city if it didn't offer you every major museum you could think of. You can find virtually everything in Amsterdam you are probably familiar with. If you think of Dutch artist, you probably think of Rembrandt and Van Gogh. Both of these have dedicated musea to their names, namely "Rembrandthuis" and "Van Gogh Museum". If you want to see more, the "Rijksmuseum" offers an array of different art. If you want to get more historic, you can't go wrong with the "Anne Frank House". A monument dedicated to Anne Frank and her family, it tells a story through pictures, quotes, video and original artifacts in a authentic tour through the house.

Tours: Aside from seeing all the canals and museums there are to see, there are tons of great tours to take all around the city! One tour that I did a few years ago that I really enjoyed was the Heineken Brewery Tour. This one was a lot of fun, as they showed you how they make their beer and the process behind it, as well as had a very immersive section of the tour where you get an inside look at how the beer is made. You follow the beer ingredients through the beer making cycle projected on a screen in a 4D experience. At the end of the tour, you get 2 free glasses of Heineken! There are also a bunch of other tours to take such as hop on hop off bus tours, canal cruise tours, museum tours, and tours to places like Zaanse Schans. At Zaanse Schans you get to see many old windmills and get to see how the classic wooden shoes and cheese was made back in the day.
