Rotterdam

A great place to visit as a tourist, Rotterdam has it all. From musea to bars, from big green parks to great architecture. If you want to see it all, no problem. The public transport within Rotterdam will get you everywhere you want to go. Not just by train, tram, bus or subway but there are boats that allow you to travel along the Maas with the use of your public transport card (OV chipkaart).

So far Rotterdam is my favorite city for a few reasons, one being because of its modern appeal. Rotterdam is a lot less old looking compared to other cities is because in World War 2, the city of Rotterdam was bombed and all the old buildings that were there were then destroyed. Another reason why I like this city so much is because there is always something going on and always something fun to do.

This giant building is called the Markthal, or 'market hall', and is filled with food vendors selling anything you can think of. Inside there is also a small Asian shop that sells food from different Asian countries, as well as ramen cook books and soup/rice bowls.

Come visit the Rotterdam Zoo (Blijdorp) and see all kinds of animal exhibits here! They also have a separate building to see butterflies as well as an aquarium section (pictured here.) You can get tickets here.

If you are looking for a place to get really good Asian cuisine, then look no further than Shabu Shabu! This place, in my opinion, has some of the best food I've ever eaten. Make sure to come hungry, Shabu Shabu is all you can eat (in 2 hours time). There are 2 locations in the city of Rotterdam.
