Welcome to my travel blog! I am glad to see you chose to explore a bit more about the Netherlands and learn more about what the country has to offer. With this site/blog, I hope to engage and excite you with what there is to do and see in the Netherlands that other countries won't be able to give you. Here I have listed the places and areas that I have been/seen, as well as places that friends and locals recommend that are more "off the beaten path" and possibly less touristy. From the best places to find stroopwaffels, the best places to grab a pint after walking through the canal ways and more, I have got you covered!

Every time I visit a new city, I will update the website with new local finds, and what I want to showcase to future travelers. I hope that through this website that you will feel a want to travel to the Netherlands and see what this country is all about.

This summer I will be making my return to Rotterdam to spend with my partner in August, and during that time I hope to visit two new cities, Delft and Lieden.

Looking very similar to the famous Zakam Bridge in Boston, the Erasmusbrug in Rotterdam connects the north and south parts of the city, and is said to be the second biggest bridge in the Netherlands.

These funny little buildings in Rotterdam are actually houses that people can live in. They are known as the Cube Houses and people can take a tour inside one for a small fare to see what they look like.

This area in the Netherlands is part of Kinderdijk, which is a UNESCO Heritage site where over 10 old windmills are preserved. When I was there, I learned that one of the oldest windmills there dated back to around the 1500s!

One of the most traditional foods of the Dutch is raw herring. It's brined and served with pickles and onions, and most of the time it's eaten whole, but others prefer to have it cut up for ease of eating.

If you enlarge the picture you can see me sitting on the 'M' of the Iamsterdam sign, located in front of the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam. This historic museum holds a lot of famous works of art from Van Gogh to Rembrant.

In the city of Utrecht, it is a lot smaller of a city compared to Amsterdam or Rotterdam. I was here before Christmas time where they had up traditional decorations and food stalls selling the traditional winter treats such as oliebollen (oil balls) and appelflappen (apple beignets).
